Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026

EduRepublic (“EduRepublic”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through edurepublic.org, why we collect it, how we protect it and the choices you have. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and the General Application and Implementation Directive 2025 (GAID).

When you use the Borderless platform at eduvirtual.edurepublic.org to register, pay or attend classes, the platform’s own terms and privacy information also apply.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Enquiries and consultations: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number and the details you share about what you need.
  • Tech Academy reservations: the course you are interested in, your experience and whether you have access to a laptop.
  • Study Abroad applications: your contact details, date of birth, nationality, address, education history, grades, test scores, study plans, funding, and any documents you choose to upload. Your passport number is optional at the enquiry stage.
  • Parental consent forms: a parent or guardian’s details, the child’s name, date of birth, age and programme, photo and participation choices, and any medical or emergency information you choose to give.
  • Studio and event enquiries: your contact details and booking requirements.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical data needed to run and secure the website: your IP address, browser type and pages requested, kept in server logs for security and troubleshooting.
  • Campaign source: if you arrive from an advert or link containing campaign tags, or from another website, we note the campaign name and the referring site’s address with any enquiry you send, so we understand which channels help people find us.
  • Cookies: see our Cookie Policy. Analytics or marketing cookies are only used if you agree to them.

How and why we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry or application and provide the service you asked about (steps before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries).
  • To deliver our services once you enrol or book (contract).
  • To record parental consent and keep children safe during programmes and events (consent and legitimate interest in safeguarding).
  • To keep the website secure, prevent spam and abuse, and fix problems (legitimate interest).
  • To understand how the website is used, only if you accept analytics cookies (consent).
  • To meet legal obligations, for example tax and accounting records.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to make automated decisions about you.

Children

Many of our learners are children. We collect information about a child from their parent or guardian. We only photograph, film or feature a child where a parent or guardian has given consent using our parental consent form, and we will not publish a testimonial involving a child without a parent or guardian’s consent. Parents and guardians can change or withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

Who can see your information

  • EduRepublic staff who need it to handle your request. Access is controlled by role, so for example the Study Abroad team sees Study Abroad applications. Sensitive forms (children’s details, identity documents, health information) are restricted further and every view is logged.
  • Service providers who host the website, store data and deliver emails for us, under contract and only on our instructions. If you accept analytics or marketing cookies, the providers named in our Cookie Policy also receive data.
  • Authorities or professional advisers where the law requires it or to protect our rights.

How we protect it

  • The website uses HTTPS encryption.
  • Form answers are encrypted in our database, and uploaded documents are stored privately. They are never published and can only be downloaded by authorised staff.
  • Staff accounts use strong passwords, sign-in attempts are limited, and important actions are recorded in an audit log.
  • Emails to our team about sensitive forms contain a secure link instead of your answers.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries are kept for up to 12 months after they are resolved, then deleted automatically.
  • Study Abroad applications are kept for up to 24 months after they are resolved, and parental consent forms for up to 36 months, so we can show consent was given.
  • Messages identified as spam are deleted after 30 days.
  • We keep information longer only where the law requires it, for example financial records.

International transfers

Our hosting and email providers may process data outside Nigeria. Where they do, we rely on safeguards permitted under the NDPA, such as contractual protections.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. To make a request, email admin@edurepublic.org. We will respond within the time the law requires. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
